These are among the activities scheduled at the University of Wyoming during the week of Feb. 8-14.
Monday, Feb. 8, 7:30 p.m. -- The UW Department of Theater and Dance presents "Crimes of the Heart," Beth Henley's Pulitzer Prize-winning comedy, at the Fine Arts Center main stage. The production continues through Friday. Tickets cost $14 for general admission, $11 for seniors and $7 for students.
Tuesday, Feb. 9, 4-6 p.m. -- Comments on a planned major renovation/addition of Half Acre Gym will be accepted at a campus community meeting in the gym's front lobby.
Tuesday, Feb. 9, 7 p.m. -- Egyptologist Mohamed A. Shata will present a lecture, "Art in Ancient Egypt: Images of Life in the Afterlife," at the UW Art Museum. Free.
Tuesday, Feb. 9, 11 a.m. -- Create jewelry at the Valentine's Day bead-in, Wyoming Union Skylight Lounge. Jewelry sales will help purchase a life-saving mobile mammography unit.
Wednesday, Feb. 10, 7 p.m. -- Pronghorn Passage, a multimedia presentation documenting the annual 300-mile migration of pronghorn antelope across western Wyoming, will be shown in Room 310 of the Classroom Building. Free.
Wednesday, Feb. 10, 7:30 p.m. -- Faculty Recital Series presents "An Evening of Saxophone Chamber Music," featuring Scott and Jennifer Turpen at the Fine Arts Center concert hall. Tickets cost $7 for general admission, $5 for students and seniors.
Thursday, Feb. 11, 7:30 p.m. -- Faculty Recital Series presents "Summit Chamber Players with Jerome Fleg, Clarinet," at the Fine Arts Center concert hall. Tickets cost $7 for general admission, $5 for students and seniors.
Friday, Feb. 12, 12 p.m. -- "All Things Geography Brown Bag Speaker Series: The American Landscape Through the Eyes of Two Cyclists," Room 316 of the Agricultue Building. Free.
Friday, Feb. 12, 6:30 p.m. -- Black History Month event: Viewing of the Academy Award-nominated film "Precious" with a following discussion, Wyoming Union Family Room. Free.
Friday, Feb. 12, 9 p.m. -- The annual Valentine's Day swing dance will take place in the Wyoming Union ballroom with dance lessons before the event. Free.
Sunday, Feb. 14, 7:45 p.m. -- Chinese New Year celebration with dancing, instrumental and singing performances, martial arts and more, College of Arts and Sciences auditorium. Free.
